I am a huge fan of watching movies. Some of my favorite nights include a big bowl of popcorn, a movie, comfy clothes and a blanket to cuddle up in. I like watching movies at home more than watching them in the theater because it’s way more cozy (and A LOT cheaper).
I usually rent movies from Redbox before I buy them in store. Last night we had a movie night and rented Wolf of Wall Street. I had heard mixed reviews about it. I ended up liking it a lot and am glad I watched it!
The exact movie description from Redbox is as follows:
This is the true story of the outlandish rise and non-stop pleasure-hunting descent of Jordan Belfort, the New York stockbroker who, along with his merry band of brokers, makes a gargantuan fortune by defrauding investors out of millions. Belfort transforms from a righteous young Wall Street newcomer to a thoroughly corrupted stock-pumper and IPO cowboy. Having quickly amassed an absurd fortune, Jordan pumps it back into an endless array of aphrodisiacs: women, Quaaludes, coke, cars, his supermodel wife and a legendary life of aspiration and acquisition without limits. But even as Belfort’s company, Stratton Oakmont, soars sky-high into extremes of hedonistic gratification, the SEC and the FBI are zeroing in on his empire of excess.
I love comedy movies. There is nothing better then sitting down to watch a movie after a long day at work and being able to laugh and relax. I prefer comedy over any other genre and never get sick of it! Some of my favorite movies include: Bridesmaids, We’re the Millers, Stepbrothers, Wedding Crashers, and now The Internship.
This is a movie with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson (which is why I love Wedding Crashers, too… they make a great duo). They are adult men who know nothing about computers and go back to get a college-level internship with Google. I recommend this movie for anybody who likes comedies. This is available on DVD and Blu Ray. I usually feel like the best deal is on the combo pack!
What are your favorite movies?
Netflix is my go to place to watch instant movies and TV shows. I feel like when I watch cable TV, it’s just the same things over and over again. It gets old to surf through the channels and never find the things that I want to watch.
I love Netflix instant streaming because I can watch it right on my TV and if I’m on the road or traveling, I am able to access my account anywhere that I have a WiFi connection. I’ve watched it while riding in the car (NOT driving–that would be EXTREMELY dangerous) on my iPhone–it makes the car ride go a lot quicker! To make Netflix stream on my TV, I play it through the connection that it has with my PlayStation 3. It’s super easy to use and they are always getting new hit TV shows and movies.
Fandango is an awesome site to visit for movies. They have reviews, showtimes, movie guides, movie buzz, theater listings, and so much more. It’s a one stop site to check out all the latest movies before you go spend the money in the theaters. I don’t go see a movie without checking out the Fandango site!
If you have a friend who looks at movies as a mobile art form, then this would be a great gift idea for their next birthday. This DVD of the Month club doesn’t stuff your mailbox with typical Hollywood blockbuster fare, this club foces more on foreign and independent films for the dsicriminating viewer.
