I would put the clothes in, add the detergent, turn the knobs and wait. But recently I had to replace my washer with a new one and discovered that front load washers are actually better. You can load more clothes each time and they use remove more water during the spin cycle. This means less water for the dryer to deal with, leading to shorter dry times and less gas used.</p>
