Hypotrochoid Art Set

January 8th, 2009

I remember using a similar art when I was a kid! This art set is still fun for kids today!

The Hypotrochoid Art Set uses gear-shaped circles to create some wonderful geometric pictures. Hypotrochoids are mathematical curves traced by a point in a circle, rolling around the inside of a bigger circle. The formulas are complicated but creating hypotrochoid art is easy and fun!

The Finger-painting Art Set contains; Non-Toxic ink pads, coloring pencils and rubber stamps to add faces and other details to the pictures. Kids love messy fun!

The Incredible 3D Doodle Kit is real retro fun. The compass-like pencil holder enables pictures to be drawn with 2 colours at the same time. When you put on the stylish 3D specs, the pictures will leap off the page!

You can find these art sets at Prezzybox.com

Printmaking Press for the Artist!

January 3rd, 2009

More and more people are embracing their artistic side and artistic printmaking is no exception! Printmaking, like everything else in the art world, exploded in the first half of the 20th century. This is a process where an artist etches their designs on one plate or surface. The plates can be of metal, wood or linoleum blocks. Sometimes plexiglass, shellacked book boards and lithographic stones are used as well.
Pablo Picasso was the first to really bring artistic printmaking alive, making more than 1,000 prints including etchings, engravings, drypoints, woodcuts, lithographs and lino cuts.

In today’s modern society, it’s easier to be creative in the field of artistic printmaking now that an excellent quality Printing Press is available.  The Printing Presses from Madison Artshop are sturdy and affordable.  An item every artist should have!
