Great Kids Clothes

November 20th, 2009

1If you have not already then you are going to want to make sure that you are prepared for the cold winter months.  That means making sure that the kids have all the essential kids clothes and accessories for the winter time…the hats, mittens, glove, scarfs….especially if your kids go to school or just like to play outside.  Don’t send you kids outside on a cold and windy day with nothing on their heads or covering up their ears.  You can not get a cold from the cold…but it sure does lower your immunity making you more susceptible to illness.

When do we get to see the baby Indiana Jones?

August 15th, 2008

Now before you call to have me taken away, let me explain. When it comes to kids clothes, there are outfits designed with generic characters (i.e. rabbits, turtles, bunnies) on them. Every once in a while, though, outfits with popular characters are available. When I was younger, there were t-shirts that tried to make you look like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. The obvious sports teams outfits and wrestling t-shirts also fall into this category of recognizable, iconic, images.

What I think would be neat to see are baby clothes designed to make you look like famous movie characters. Imagine, you walk into a baby clothes store and on the rack is an Indiana Jones outfit sized 18mo, complete with hat and felt bullwhip. A few racks down are the Princess Leia outfits for 24mo. You could really have some fun with this.

Granted, children grow fast, so outfits like this may not get worn many times before the child outgrows it, but capture it on film and you have a story for the scrapbook every time. I now challenge you: what would be some good choices for movie character outfits? What iconic film character’s outfit would you love to see you son, daughter, niece, or nephew wear?

Where to find nice childrens clothes for boys

August 15th, 2008

The best part of having a daughter is being able to dress her up in all of the great little girls clothing! I have a son as well, and I must admit that the selection of boys outfits is never as nice as what I can find for girls! Don’t get me wrong, I can find nice childrens clothes for both of my kids, but the good boy stuff is few and far between. My biggest complaint with boys clothing is that everything is dark and dreary, camouflage or sports themed, or plastered with tacky illustrations and television and movie characters. Is it so wrong to want to dress your little boy is nice, sweet little boy apparel?

Now girls clothes on the other hand… a walk in the park! Last week alone I was able to find my daughter a pair of metallic silver jeans, dark blue denim jeans with silver sparkles all over them, and some great tights in the baby clothes section at Babies ‘r Us.

Where do you shop for clothing for your children? I know that Gymboree and The Children’s Place are often recommended, but there have to be some other nice stores as well! I love Carters clothing, but sadly their sizes don’t go beyond babies!
