So I must be on a kitchen appliance kind of mood lately but I wanted to write and rave about the Oster convection oven that I also recently bought. I love having a convection oven because it doesn’t use as much energy as turning the entire oven on. It cooks food in less time and more evenly than an oven. Plus, it fits right on the countertop so it’s definitely isn’t an eyesore with it’s modern design. So how small is it you ask? Big enough to fit a family size pizza, roasts, casseroles, and chicken (not all at the same time of course!).

Guys, be careful if you want to give your wife this spatula as a gift. They could possibly mistake it for a statement that their place is in the kitchen. On the whole, this might be a fun little novelty gift for Valentine’s Day. I guess if you want a little extra lovin’ to go into those pancakes, this would be the way to do it.

You might want to file this under the “Novelty Item with hidden practicality” category. The trash can is an essential for every kitchen, but how many people thought that you needed a can that opened and closed on command. This trash can does just that. It opens when you need it to, and will remain that way until you indicate that it is time to close.

Washing machine

I recently had to replace my top loading washing machine with one of the high efficiency side loading washing machines. I can unequivocally say that this new washing machine is great. It is quiter, washes more per load and uses less detergent per load. I highly recommend this as a gift to both friends as well as yourself.

Gravy separator

Has anyone ever needed a gravy separator? This is for people who like to make homemade gravy. I have to say that I’ve never felt the need to make my own. I’ve always been content to use canned gravy. But, if I were to make my own, I can see where a tool like this would be very helpful.

Carving Knife

As good as Mom was in the kitchen preparing the turkey, Dad was a certified artist when it came to carving said turkey. Even though he only had a simple carving knife, he did a beautiful job. If he would have had an electric carving knife, such as this one, I can guarantee he would have been faster.

Stove

As we march forward in technology, nothing is left untouched. That’s a good thing. This stove is full of the latest features. It’s cooking surface is uniform, so there’s no coils sticking up. The boilers are electric which saves on the gas bill. Plus, there’s a steam element to make cleaning the actual oven easier.

Microwave

Microwaves are getting really smart. It almost scares me a little bit. I can remember the days when microwaves had two basic cooking functions; time and power. If you wanted microwave popcorn, you had to babysit the microwave to make sure you didn’t burn it. The microwaves of today can now have buttons that will make the microwave cook based on what you put in. There’s a button for popcorn, a button for pizza reheating, and many others. I’m amazed at what technology can do sometimes.
