Let’s play the Baby Clothes Roulette game
September 30th, 2008
I love games. Board games, card games, computer games, sporting events, I enjoy it all. I even enjoy the games we have to play that don’t necessarily have a scoring system. A lot of those types of games arise from life’s situations. Let me explain.
My niece is 16 months old right now. At the beginning of the summer we had plenty of summer baby clothes for her to wear. As we got closer to September, my wife and I decided it would be a good idea to stock up on warmer baby clothes. At the store, we inadvertently started looking for baby clothes that matched her current age. What we needed to be doing was looking at the next size larger since any baby clothes we bought now would be too small when she needed them in the future. We had 4-5 outfits planned when I finally mentioned that she would be too big for the baby clothes we had selected.
That’s what I mean by life’s games. In the area of baby clothes, you have to shop for the future as well as the present. You can’t buy for the current season and think the clothes will be good for next year. Your child will be too grown. If you’re shopping for baby clothes for the upcoming season, you have to take the child’s age during that season into account when choosing clothes in the present.
So, there you have it. Be smart and have fun with life’s little games.
