Well, that baby bump is a little more than a baby bump now, so I think it is probably a good time to start getting the baby room set up :p I have been putting it off for so long because I didn’t want to jinx anything! I don’t know if it was all of my friends and family telling me that I needed to get started on it, or the realization that I am actually due pretty soon… or both that got me actually going on getting that baby crib decor and nursery, baby ready.
I like to think that I have a bit of a different style. I tend to stray away from the fashion trends that are going around. I like to take some of the trends and turn it my own way, or just completely go another rout… without looking completely insane! For my baby’s room, I wanted to do something really special of course. This is where my baby is going to be growing up, so I want it to be a place he or she will love, have fun in, and feel absolutely comfortable in. Because of this, I didn’t want to go over board with the colors, and maybe do something a little more with the patterns and prints.
My sister some of her kids clothes from Naartjie Kids, and I totally love them because they are a little different and not your typical kids clothes. When I found out they had bedding, I was pretty excited that I could stop stressing and putting off the nursery and actually have fun getting all of the room together.
We wanted to wait until the day of the birth to find out the sex of the baby. This does add a bit of a stress on what color we are going to chose for the baby room. When I saw that Naartjie had a gray chevron print bedding set I couldn’t have asked for a better option. Chevron is trending right now, but it isn’t something you see done for babies’ rooms. How perfect for me, right?
I bought all of the baby crib decor because I just loved it all together as is, and then I bought a couple of the extra pieces to go along with the room and tie it all together. After I had the room painted, furniture in, baby crib decor and other accessories, I was able to find a couple of my own pieces that just added a little bit of me and his or her family into the room. I totally love the combination of the chevron print next to the zoo print. They really compliment each other and really give this baby’s room a look like no other.
I am seriously way too excited to bring home the baby to his or her new nursery to grow up in! Please tell me about your nursery designing experiences! I would love to hear them!
